Hunt for $70 to Celebrate our 70th Year!

Grab your plat book, a map and your thinking cap. We’re going on an adventure!

How well do you know your community? We’re going to find out. This is Blue Valley’s 70th year in business and we’re celebrating with a scavenger hunt. We’re hiding 70 collectable coins all around our service territory with riddles and rhymes to figure out where they are. If you find one, follow the instructions on the card and you get a $70 bill credit, PLUS you get into a drawing for our GRAND PRIZE of 70 weeks of free internet! But, that’s not all. If you post on Facebook and tag us with your treasure, you get another entry into the overall drawing.

Over the next 9 weeks, we will release 7 coins per week in the following areas. All clues and riddles will release on Fridays via social media and email.

  • September 18: Blue Rapids & Waterville
  • September 25: Frankfort & Rural Marshall County
  • October 2: Marysville
  • October 9: Home & Oketo
  • October 16: Onaga, Westmoreland & Wheaton
  • October 23: Centralia & Vermillion
  • October 30: Baileyville, Bern, Kelly, Rural Nemaha County & Seneca
  • November 6: Axtell, Beattie & Summerfield

Rules

  • Have fun & be safe!
  • Respect all posted signs and be respectful of others.
  • You will not have to climb a tree or dig a hole to find the coins.
  • Any disruptive behavior will result in disqualification.
  • Leave things as good or even better than you found them.
  • Stay within public places/spaces (i.e., parks, trails, etc.)
  • Only one winner per Blue Valley account.
  • Must be a Blue Valley customer to win.
  • Once you find a collectable coin, follow the instructions on the attached card. 
  • All collectable coins must be found and reported to our office by Friday, November 13. 

Clues for Linn & Palmer

Clue #1:

Clue #2:
Whether you're leaving or just passing through,
This next clue is waiting to welcome you.
A spot that lets travelers know where they are,
Uncover part of the treasure hunt, you won’t wander far.

Clue #3: 
I never walk, yet I tower overall,
Holding a treasure no one can haul.
Seek not what I carry, but what helps me stand,
And a collectible coin will be close at hand.

Clue #4:
Cruising down Highway 9, this clue leads the way,
To a place where many gather each Sunday.
Beneath a crossing where visitors come and go,
Search where rainwater is free to flow.

Clue #5: 
Your hunt for the coin is moving ahead,
To a place where athletes are often led.
Before the bright lights and Friday night fame,
Skills are sharpened for the big game.

Clue #6:
The itsy-bitsy spider knew just where to go,
To a spot that helps the green grass grow,
Take a break from swings and play,
Grab a cold drink, sit and stay.

Clue #7:
Following the sounds of play,
Where children gather almost every day.
With smiling faces all around,
A wooden nickel may soon be found.
