BVTC to Launch Data Center
August 14, 2014
Today, Blue Valley Tele-Communications announced plans to open a new data center at its facility in Home, Kan. The center is focused on meeting the growing customer demand for IT services including disaster recovery, security, and technical support. The data center will be the first of its kind in the area.
“The new data center will give rural businesses in niche markets, such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and manufacturing, a state-of-the-art, local facility to tap into a complete portfolio of cloud services,” said Brian Thomason, BVTC’s chief executive officer.
The data center infrastructure will include virtual servers, storage, and networking all on a single platform, with full customer access and control. These components will free users from the physical limitations created by bricks and mortar, and create a foundation for de-centralization, which ultimately increases productivity for their in-house IT staff.
Today's news is a continuation of BVTC’s commitment to rural Kansas. “Investing in the creation of a data center increases the reach and capability of a business’ IT operations and is a natural flow of progression for the company,” said Thomason.
