BVT Hosts State-wide Marketing-PR Workshop

May 30, 2024

April 8, 2024 – Home, Kan. – Nearly 30 marketing and public relations professionals from broadband companies across Kansas and Missouri gathered April 3-4 in Marysville when Blue Valley Technologies hosted the PRIMO (Public Relations and Independent Marketing Organization) event.

“This Spring workshop offered attendees the opportunity to network with other professionals in the industry. Oftentimes these companies have only one or two people in the marketing and public relations department, so this gives everyone the opportunity to bounce ideas and find creative solutions to challenges facing many of us,” said Angie Armstrong, director of marketing and community relations for BVT.

The workshop featured a dinner at the Wagon Wheel on Wednesday evening followed by a black squirrel scavenger hunt up and down Broadway. Thursday featured a variety of speakers and topics including how to better lobby for rural broadband, provide valuable content to subscribers, involve community and local government in broadband efforts, and being community champions for the rural areas served.

The lunch break was extended for attendees to allow more time to visit the squirrels, shop downtown, and explore Marysville more intimately.

Armstrong added, “It was wonderful working with Wayne Kruse at Marysville Chamber and Main Street. He made hosting this conference so easy! There is so much to do downtown, and we heard only nice things from all the attendees, from their stay at Heritage Inn, to the venue, the food, and the hospitality.”
